Today Emma and I were set the task of capturing some images that represented a certain theme. We were given 'Surrealism vs Realism' which in my opinion was the most difficult to capture, but we went with it anyway. We walked around college looking for some inspiration and found some artwork in textiles that fitted the brief perfectly. We started by taking a photo of it with no filter on it at all and left the camera on the manual settings. We then started to play around with the different filters, settings and modes on the camera we had and managed to achieve some different looks with the same photos. We then moved outside and took some photos of the sky and some leaves. We believed this represented realism perfectly as it is completely natural. We again changed the settings with each photo and enhanced different undertones in the images which was really effective with the bright blue sky and rich green leaves. We then began to take photos of a single flower that was on the floor in outside, this again showed realism. Then finally we went into the art rooms and took some pictures of some candy skulls on the walls because I had the idea that they represented surrealism. This task helped my understanding of the camera we were using as I hadn't had a chance to use it before.
Below are some images of me taking pictures in the textiles room-
